The US Department of Veterans Affairs provides a grave marker at no charge to eligible service members. There are several options to choose: upright headstone in white marble or gray granite; flat marker in gray granite or white marble; flat marker in bronze; or, a bronze niche for columbarium/mausoleum, or to supplement a private monument (for deaths occurring on or after Sept. 11, 2001) You'll find helpful information about memorial benefits offered by the Department on their website under Veteran Services. The VA can help with all the needed paperwork.
We install VA bronze memorial plaques or flat granite markers on granite bases, concrete foundations, or on granite monuments. Simply request that the veteran headstone is shipped to us. We honor our veterans by offering a discounted price for installation; it's our way of showing appreciation and gratitude for serving our country.
Spouses of veterans may choose to make the spouse's marker to match the government-supplied memorial. Many times the spouse memorial is installed side-by-side on one granite or concrete base. We are careful to match the same style and military font.
Many choose to place a VA marker at the head of the grave and then later replace it with a companion monument and move the VA monument to the foot of the grave. There are several options available in honoring a veteran; let us help you decide the best option for you.
